Update to 1.1.5 totally sucks!!!!

So many things wrong with the update that has screwed up my site. For starters, making changes in the Theme Options doesn’t work. I make changes and they fail to show up on the site, which forces me to hard code custom CSS. The slideshow is nowhere to be found, even though I have slides and it is turned on to display.
I’m trying to create a new Catering page that just has that info on it and I can’t seem to get it to only display that category, it only wants to display the entire menu. This is the worst update yet.
alpinevp January 7, 2014 at 10:14 pmAlso, when now viewed in mobile, all of the home page menu content is slid over and squished to the left instead of being nicely centered and justified.
alpinevp January 7, 2014 at 10:35 pmAlso, when viewed on mobile, the footer widget content font color on the home page is not correct, it’s supposed to be FFFFFF, it is on all except the home page.
alpinevp January 7, 2014 at 10:53 pmRegarding the Catering page, I want it to be a Menu Category Template display but that template does not exist in the page template drop down selector.

Juanfra Aldasoro January 7, 2014 at 10:59 pmHello,
Thanks for writing.
It soubds like the update wasn’t made correctly. You shouldn’t be experiencing any trouble by simply updating. Would you please describe me what steps have you done when updating?
Thank you,
Juanalpinevp January 7, 2014 at 11:02 pmI FTP’d all of the new files and overwrote the old ones, tried to do the update from the Nice Themes updater but that didn’t work either. Refer to all of the above to see the problems.
alpinevp January 7, 2014 at 11:04 pmSo far I have spent over 3.5 hours trying to resolve this mess! Who pays for my time when your updates don’t work?
Juanfra Aldasoro January 7, 2014 at 11:09 pmHello,
Thanks for your patience.
Would you please check that the files that you downloaded are ok?
Also, regarding your customizations. Where did you make them?
Best,
Juan.alpinevp January 7, 2014 at 11:12 pmJuan,
Have you not read any of the above posts from me? Everything is clearly explained. All of the files I downloaded from your site appear to be fine. I have done three separate downloads and compared the files and they are all the same, so if they are messed up, it is what I am downloading from your site.Juanfra Aldasoro January 7, 2014 at 11:19 pmHello,
Yes, I read all of the posts. And I’m trying to help.
Sometimes when you download files with a poor connection or something they just don’t download completely or with some missing information. Another option is that some of the files on your server had some file permissions that doesn’t permit to overwrite them, so you end up having some files from one version and others from the new one.
The menu category template is within the theme since version 1.0.0, the file is taxonomy-menu-cateogory.php
Be sure that if the files from our site are messed up, we would have been noticed by all of the new customers.
Would you please send me your FTP access details to support@nicethemeswp.com?

Juan.Juanfra Aldasoro January 8, 2014 at 12:13 amHello Scott,
Besides the slider issue, would you please describe me what problems you have found?
The slider removed from other pages than the Home Page template is a change we needed to make to follow the WordPress standards. If you use the Home Page template you’ll find out that the slider is there and working.
With regards to the Custom CSS, I’ve been through your theme options and there’s nothing there.
Best,
Juan.Juanfra Aldasoro January 8, 2014 at 2:39 pmHello Scott,
I’ve been through your site and I can tell that the main problem for you is that we’ve changed the logic of the slider inclusion to have it only in the home page template. That was since version 1.1.2, as it is stated in the theme changelog: http://updates.nicethemeswp.com/themes/bbq/changelog.txt
However, and for your happiness I’ve modified your site in order to display the Slider in your front page. The files I’ve been working on are header.php and /includes/scripts.php
With regards to your customization, I can’t see any data within the Custom CSS option.
I can see some code in your custom.css file, which is breaking the responsive styles for the menu card styles, thing that you stated as broken. If you please go to line #52 of your custom.css file, and remove the customization you’ve made for the class .menu-box (In terms of width, not colors) that problem would be solved.
I’ve tested the issue you state for the footer text color, and I always see the text with a white color.
With regards to the Menu Category template, I’ll ask you to open another topic as it is not related to the topic title and the problems that the update could have caused you.
Best,
Juan.
