Hi! Im a designer working with this great theme. A company has purchased the theme and they have sent to me the package theme.
I need translate some words and phrases to spanish. I’m using Poedit to do this task and I kown where is the translation file. But I don’t know how to make a relation this file with my location.
Can you help me please? I don’t kown if I have to do a new file with this name es_ES.po or equivalent with the translation.
Thanks!
Juanfra Aldasoro December 24, 2013 at 1:56 pmHi Oscar,
Thanks for writing and for your kind words about the theme.
First, download and install Poedit. Then, see that within the theme files there’s a folder named “lang”. Over there you can find the translatable files. So, you’ll need to do the following:
1. Open the file in Poedit.
On the left, there’s a box with the original message (in English) from the POT file. Beside that box is where you add your translation.
2. Go to File → Save as… to save your translations in a PO file. (must be named es_ES.po and es_ES.mo – These are for Spanish from Spain)
3. When you are finished translating, go to File → Save as… again to generate the MO file. Finally, to make the relation, you need to be running your WordPress install in Spanish:
