I’m getting strange characters on parts of the site now and then. Might be an encoding or font issue. Please could you assist. I have a screenshot of the characters so just mail me for it.
Juanfra Aldasoro July 3, 2015 at 3:36 pmHi,
Thanks for writing. I went through your website and couldn’t see any strange character.
Would you please send me a link to a screenshot or explain me where and when is this happening?
Thank you,
Juan.Juanfra Aldasoro July 3, 2015 at 8:57 pmHi JP,
Thanks for the follow up. That is pretty strange.
I tried reloading the page several times and it always looked fine. What browser are you using?
If you check the page source, do you get to see the strange characters as well?

Juan.JP4210 July 6, 2015 at 6:32 amAm using Chrome. Haven’t tested it on other browsers but have tested it in Chrome across 3 PC’s.
Juanfra Aldasoro July 6, 2015 at 6:15 pmHello,
Thanks for the follow up. I’ve been trying to reproduce the issue in Chrome and I can’t get to reproduce it.
Have you tried to run another theme on this install?
It seems like it could be an issue related to the database: Encoding, or MySQL crashing because of not having enough space, or corrupted tables.

Juan.JP4210 July 7, 2015 at 6:18 amI had a free theme on before I picked up your theme and I didn’t notice any problems like this.
Is there a way to preserve my configuration but do a reinstall?
Juanfra Aldasoro July 7, 2015 at 1:55 pmHi JP,
Thanks for the follow up.
Well, you might lose information if you make a reinstall. It depends on the data structure of the theme you switch on.
Have you tried re-saving the options? Perhaps it is that the register of the database is corrupted and it is displaying the error. One thing is for certain, it can’t be a theme problem because it is forced to utf8. What we need to find is if the problem is related to the database and how to solve it.

Juan.JP4210 July 7, 2015 at 2:12 pmHi Juan,
Changing the fonts to custom and setting it to Lucida seems to have fixed the issue. I’ll let you know if it returns.
Juanfra Aldasoro July 7, 2015 at 9:29 pmHi JP,
Thanks for the follow up. Perhaps it has to do with the render of the google font directly.
Were you using the default fonts?

Juan.JP4210 July 8, 2015 at 6:42 amHi Juan,
Yes I was using the default fonts. (Raleway) Have now just made everything Lucida for the time being.
Juanfra Aldasoro July 8, 2015 at 2:01 pmHi JP,
Thanks for the follow up.
Great then. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
Kind regards,
Juan.
