Hi,
About the staff page. On the homepage you see the staff names and a little bit description about them. Is it possible to choose how much text you can see on the homepage before the read more link?
Then when you click on a staff member, you will see the whole description. But on the top it show also the text from te homepage till the read more and then also the whole text.
Hope you can help me.
Juanfra Aldasoro September 25, 2015 at 1:47 pmHi Sarah,
Thank you for writing. Yes, you can use “The excerpt” field to put a small description, else it will be taken from the content. If you don’t get to see “The excerpt” field while editing the staff member, look at the right top part of your screen, and click where it says “Screen options”. A panel will be toggled, and over there you can pick to display “the excerpt” field.
The excerpt is meant to work as a small description for the staff members.

I found the excerpt field so that isn’t the problem.
It shows a limited characters and I want to change that. So I can show a little bit more text. Thanks in advance,
Sarah
Juanfra Aldasoro October 26, 2015 at 2:24 pmHi Sarah,
Thank you for the follow up.
Yes, the staff section for the home page is meant to display only the excerpt because the full content is reserved for the full description on the staff single template, for example: http://demo.nicethemeswp.com/paeon/staff/christiaan-barnard/

Juan.SarahWilms October 26, 2015 at 2:28 pmHi Juanfra,
And is it possible to change the number of characters so I can put more text in the excerpt field?
Because I want to show more text.Kind regards,
Sarah
Juanfra Aldasoro October 26, 2015 at 3:10 pmHi Sarah,
Thank you for the follow up.
At the moment you can edit that directly from the home page template (template-home.php), line 180, the function
nice_excerpt( 120 );
You can change the number 120 for the amount of characters you would like to display.
