Slider stops displaying images on mobile

• Hey Juan,

I noticed that my slider is behaving funny on mobile devices. First, once it reaches the end, it stops displaying the image; however i can see on the pagination that it’s still rotating (which I want it to do because i have “repeat” turned on).

Then, there are other times when it just stops showing the image (but again, keeps shuffling through) if you interact with it. I can’t consistently reproduce this problem; however the first one happens all the time.

I have tested it on android, iphone, blackberry and windows phone. The only one to actually display the slider perfectly was the blackberry (believe it or not!). The problem also occurs on my android tablet.

Any ideas? Here’s my site if you want to have a look: http://www.casamia.ca

Hi Kosta,

Thanks for writing. I’ve been trying to reproduce the issue on the iPhone & iPad and everything seems to be working fine. When it reach the last image it just start with the first one, and the images are showing all the time.

Have you changed anything?

Best,
Juan,

No, I haven’t changed anything since I entered the ticket.

Strange…I tried it on one of our waitresses iphones last night and it wasn’t working. She had an iphone4 if that makes a difference…

I just checked again now on my android and it’s still doing in there.

I also looked on the BBQ demo theme site and it happens on the BBQ demo as well, so this might actually not be an issue related to my site, but maybe a bug in the theme.

I just tried a few android emulators online and they seemed to work. Hmm..perhaps the problem is just with my nexus 5 phone or my nexus 7 tablet. They are both running android 4.4 kitkat, so it’s either the OS or the device

I must have fixed it without knowing on the other browsers, but my nexus devices aren’t working.

I’m going to assume it’s the devices. I will try find someone with an older version of android and see if it works there. I’ll let you know.

Alright…results are in. I tried on an older android (4.3 jelly bean) and it’s fine there too now.

it must just be the Nexus devices (both tablet and phone). I will assume the bug is there and just wait/hope an update along the way will fix it.

I must have fixed the problem last night when I was playing with it on the other browsers and just assumed that since it wasn’t working on my nexus devices, I didn’t fix anything…but i guess I did.

Anyhow, thanks for looking into it for me, and sorry for the false alarm.

Hi Kosta,

Great – I’m glad it works fine and it was a false alarm. Please don’t hesitate to write if you find anything else I can help you with.

Happy Christmas.
Juan.

Merry Christmas to you too!

One other question – I’ve tried putting a link in my food item descriptions, but the gets stripped off. Is there a way to do it?

What I’m trying to do is have an item like this:

ItemName – Description here bla bla bla. Served with a dinner option

It seems to work with the menu category descriptions, but not the items themselves.

Any ideas?

Oops…looks like this page rendered my link…here is what that link should look like

dinner options

…hopefully that’s write…doing it by hand here 🙂

Hi Kosta,

The menu items description is shown with the excerpt function, what you need to do is put the link with the short description over there and it will be shown without any problem 🙂

Best,
Juan.

Nevermind… I was viewing the category page and it just doesn’t render the lnk. However, on the item details page it does.

Sorry dude. My bad…

Ok, good to know! I’ll keep that in mind.

Thanks!

Awesome 🙂

Merry Christmas,
Juan.

You too!!
