Love the theme. Thanks.
My restaurant has 3 different locations with 3 different menus. How would i go about creating 3 separate menus for each of these locations.
Juanfra Aldasoro May 21, 2013 at 8:08 pmThanks for your kind words đ
The best solution for this would be creating three parent Food categories. That would be “Location 1”, “Location 2” & “Location 3”. Then you add all the food items assigning them to the specific food category you wish.
Since “Location 1”, “Location 2” & “Location 3” are food categories you donât need to create any pages for them, theyâre created automatically by the theme.
If you visit your page http://yourwpsite.com/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=menu-category&post_type=menu â youâll see all the menu categories that youâd created. Youâll able to create more, edit or delete. When you hover any category youâll see that thereâs a link that says âViewâ. If you click that link, youâll be sent to the Food menu category template.
Over the theme options, you can select to display your food menu category template with a grid or list style.
Then, when creating your WordPress navigation menu (check Appearance > Menus ), you can add any âMenu Categoryâ (in your case: “Location 1”, “Location 2” & “Location 3”).
Best,
Juan.frontierstrategies May 21, 2013 at 8:09 pmIt looks like this page here can be my working solution. I do want to retain the grid view however. Can you please email that template also? Thanks.

frontierstrategies May 21, 2013 at 8:11 pmThanks. I see that option now. This should have me rocking and rolling. Great theme/support. Will be buying more nicethemes from now on. Thanks.
frontierstrategies May 21, 2013 at 8:12 pmAlso, it would be really nice to have this in the documentation. Seems like you have answered this question a lot!
Juanfra Aldasoro May 21, 2013 at 8:29 pmHi There,
Thanks! Yes, we’re working in a renovated support center đ
Have a nice day,
Juan.frontierstrategies May 21, 2013 at 9:40 pmOk, so i have this almost exactly like i want it. The trouble is that i cannot get the “menu-card” to populate with the appropriate subcategory. In fact, its empty when i use the grid method for “Display menu category as the Menu Grid Template”
Also, all the content is stuck in the lefthand column, and not on both sides like the grid was before without diving into this categories method.
Here is basic map of what i am trying to achieve…
LOCATION 1
Category A (left column)
Item i
Item ii
Item iiiCategory B (right column)
Item i
Item ii
Item iii—
LOCATION 2
Category A (left column)
Item i
Item ii
Item iiiCategory B (right column)
Item i
Item ii
Item iii—
LOCATION 3
Category A (left column)
Item i
Item ii
Item iiiCategory B (right column)
Item i
Item ii
Item iii—
But, using your described method above I am getting this as a result
LOCATION 1
Item i
Item ii
Item iiiCategory A (left column)
Repeated Item i
Repeated Item ii
Repeated Item iiiCategory B (left column)
Repeated Item i
Repeated Item ii
Repeated Item iiiWorking locally atm or i would show you the code. If needed, i can put it up on a dummy link.
Juanfra Aldasoro May 21, 2013 at 10:22 pmHi There,
It would be great to have it online, else I’m a bit blind in order to give advice.
Thanks,

Firs of all, thanks for taking the time to put this online. Second, you’ve done a marvelous job customizing the theme đ kudos!
Third, would you please send me the access details over support@nicethemeswp.com so I can take a look at the categories hierarchy and some related stuff?
Thanks again,
Juan.Juanfra Aldasoro May 22, 2013 at 2:46 pmHi,
Thanks again đ
I’ve just added a small CSS fix, and saw that you’re assigning your food items to both the parent and grand parent categories. You only need to assign it to the parent one, else it’ll listed twice.
For example:
LOCATION 1
Item i
Item ii
Item iiiCategory A (left column)
Repeated Item i
Repeated Item ii
Repeated Item iii—
Items are repeated because, Item i is linked with both LOCATION 1 and CATEGORY A.
Please take a look at what I’ve done with “Classic Cobb Salad”.
Best,
Juan.frontierstrategies May 22, 2013 at 5:49 pmThanks. Do you mind telling me where you made that css fix? For my version control.
So i would have to a BASKETS AND SALADS category for each location now? That same category will be each of the locations and with this method i will only have the ability to give it one parent (the location).
Juanfra Aldasoro May 22, 2013 at 7:21 pmSure, it’s under “Custom CSS” in the theme options panel.
Exactly đ
Best,
Juan.
