Info Boxes / Feed from Blog

Hey! I finally purchased BBQ for our church’s coffeeshop, and I’m getting things up and running. This may be the first of a few posts asking questions. I’m trying to search through the forums for solutions before I post.
I think I have the Home page set up correctly. I set up a dummy slider and info boxes.
I also set up a Blog (“Events”), thinking that it should feed the latest post to the Home page. Is that correct? Or does something specific need to be done for that to happen?
Thanks so much! Things are beginning to look really nice.

Juanfra Aldasoro January 27, 2015 at 1:32 amHi Victor,
Thanks for writing and thank you for your purchase.
The home page template doesn’t include the latest posts directly. However, there are widgetized spaces, named “Pre-footer sections” in which you can add different widgets in order to set content.
You can learn how to manage widgets by reading our documentation: http://nicethemeswp.com/article/using-wordpress-widgets/
Thank you 🙂

Juan.VictorMinetola January 27, 2015 at 1:53 pmThanks for the reply, Juan.
So, is there a widget that can pull the latest post (either as an info box, or a snippet with image and blurb) to the home page automatically?
Thanks again.
victorVictorMinetola January 27, 2015 at 1:57 pmAh! I just noticed the “Recent Post” widget. Is there a way for it to pull the featured image from the post as well?
I’m about to test it, but will it set up as 1/3s like the info boxes?
Or, is there a way for an info box to always pull or link to the latest post?
Thanks!
victorJuanfra Aldasoro January 27, 2015 at 2:20 pmHi Victor,
That’s right, the “Recent Posts” widget is part of WordPress core. Unfortunately it doesn’t give the option to display the featured image.
Those widgets are not infoboxes. The info boxes are the three items you see below the slider on the demo site.
The widgetized spaces I’m mentioning are the three spaces above the footer. In the demo site, these are: From the Blog, Twitter, Flickr.

Juan.VictorMinetola January 27, 2015 at 2:55 pmGot it. That helps!
Is it OK if I ask another question here? If not, I\’ll create a new post.
I\’m trying to get my navigation menu items in a particular order. I\’ve adjusted the Order number in page attributes, but it doesn\’t seem to change anything. I want News to come after About and Catering, before Contact Us.
Juanfra Aldasoro January 27, 2015 at 4:40 pmHi Victor,
No problem.
It would be better if we can have different topics in different threads, that way, the forum remain searchable for the rest of the community, and they can benefit of all of the answers listed here.
I’d kindly ask you if you can open a new thread, by copying and pasting your new question, and setting an appropriate topic title.
Best,
Juan.
