Changes lost when logged out

Hello.
I have made some changes on the homepage of http://brilakisorthopaedics.gr/ and I can see them when I am logged in. However, when I log out, the changes are lost.
What is happening? How can I fix this.
The changes involve the services section, the welcome message and the google maps widget.
Thank you.
tsilimidoum January 5, 2016 at 1:50 amJust deactivated w3totalcache plugin and all works fine. Is there an incompatibility with the theme?
Ricardo Aiello January 5, 2016 at 11:14 amHi tsilimidoum,
If the changes are recent, that’s the expected behaviour. Likely, now you’ll be seeing those when unlogged too.
Web cache systems like W3 Total Cache speed up your site by temporarily storing a static version of the requested pages, which is served in later requests of the same page, until it expires.
By default, W3TC doesn’t serve cached pages to logged users (to make it easier for you to see the changes you’re making), but always does to unlogged users (for performance gain). This is why you see the changes only when logged in.
Summarizing, it’s only a matter of time until the cached pages expire and the changes are shown in every case (how much time depends on the plugin configuration). If you want to purge the cache (which means to remove the stored static version of a page) to force a change to show, W3TC adds a link to purge each cached page in the Pages section of the admin, and also an option in the toolbar to purge the entire cache.
Please let me know if your issue is fixed now, and if there is anything else we can do for you.
Best,
Ricardo
tsilimidoum January 5, 2016 at 11:41 amHi Ricardo.
I reenabled the plugin and everything is fine. Thank you for your detailed info, I was trying to empty the cache, I did not know that I should purge the cache. This is very useful.
Thanks again!
Ricardo Aiello January 5, 2016 at 4:23 pmHi tsilimidoum,
You’re welcome! I’m glad I could help 🙂
Note that the described behavior applies to all web cache systems, and it does not depend on the theme you’re using.
Let me know if we can be of further assistance.
Best,
Ricardo
