Broken Responsive Menu in v1.0.6

Request ID #3861 In Progress
  • Since updating to v1.0.6 my submenus no longer appear on the responsive menu (i.e. when the screen size is too small for the normal menu). A list of top level menu items appears after clicking on the menu button, but there are no buttons to expand and show sub-menu items (as in the previous version of the theme).

I have developed a child theme which is currently active on my development site but I have the same problem even if I switch the theme to the original Paeon theme.

I thought I’d check to see if your theme demo was working and it behaves fine, but then it appears to only be running v1.0.0 🙁

    Please advise.

    Hello,

Thanks for writing. Have you edited the original CSS file regarding the responsive menu classes?

Did you upload all the new files? We’re including fontAwesome, a web font, for that style. If you don’t upload the font files, then it won’t be viewed.

    Best,
    Juan

    To clarify,
    – I deleted the old theme completely and uploaded the new theme, I am using a child theme so I have not made any changes to the original CSS file.
    – The fontAwesome is loading correctly.
    – I am only having problems on smaller displays that use the responsive menu (i.e. an icon which expands the menu once clicked). I don’t see the menu icon (only a different color square), nor do I see the expansion buttons for the sub menus. I don’t even see any HTML inside the source for these expansion buttons – it’s not just that they are not visible, they don’t seem to exist.

You can see the problem on the development site that I specified in the first message.

    Thanks,
    Nik

    Hi Nik,

Haven’t you edited the header file in your child theme? The new version includes changes over that file, the icon tag is used there and I can’t see that in your theme.

We’re in the process of updating the demo sites, it is currently running the old version.

    Best,
    Juan.

While this is true – I have edited the header file in the child theme – but as I originally stated “I have the same problem even if I switch the theme to the original Paeon theme.” (although the menu icon does work, the submenus do not).

    Hi Nik,

Thanks for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience. We’ve released a new version with a fix for this problem.

You can get it from your dashboard.

    Best,
    Juan.
