  • Hello,

I have tried to traslate some section of the site http://www.laparoscopic-urology.gr/therapies/ like read more with .po and .mo files but does not work.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Thank you for writing. The “Read more” and all of the other strings are localized and should appear in your translation editor.

What tool are you using to transalte the theme?

    Best,
    Juan.

    Hi,

I have translated it through plugin CodeStyling Localization, i have also translated through poedit the .po file and generated the .mo file.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Thank you for the follow up.

It seems that the plugin have been discontinued?

When you generated the .po and .mo file you named them with the language code that you are trying to use and put them in the “lang/” folder within the theme?

    Best,
    Juan.

    Hello,

Thank you for sharing your site details with me.

I have been through your website and it seems that the codestyling translation is correct. Actually if you see the “Read More” string for translation means that the theme is translatable. If the plugin is not translating that correctly, then is a plugin problem.

The “Read More” translation is in place. I guess if it doesn’t work it must be related to some plugin flaw, or that the page is cached.

Where did you put the generated .po and .mo files? Perhaps they’re stepping one on top of the other?

    Best,
    Juan

    Hello,

    Hi John,

Thank you for the follow up. Yes, the two strings are on those files, and they are part of the catalog.

What I meant with my previous message is that if you can“t get to see the translation, the problem may be from the plugin or perhaps because of not putting the .po and .mo files in the correct place with the correct name.

Case 1: Have you tried different plugins, like locotranslate? https://wordpress.org/plugins/loco-translate/

Case 2: Where have you put the translation files? under what name?

    Best,
    Juan.

    Hello Juan,

    John

    Hi John,

Thank you for the follow up.

What are the names of the .mo and .po files?

    Best,
    Juan.

    Hi Juan,

    nicethemes.po
    nicethemes.mo

    Thanks

    Juanfra Aldasoro

    Hi John,

Thanks for the follow up. Then, there’s the problem, you have to rename the files and name them with the locale you would like to use. For example, for spanish:

    es_ES.po
    es_ES.mo

    Best,
    Juan.
