Warning message from Codestyling tool for Theme localization

  • I am trying to use Codestyling plugin to perform localization of the Paeon theme. After using the plugin to scan for all the translatable text, the plugin produces this message:

Warning: The actual loaded translation content contains mixed textdomains and is not pure translateable within one textdomain.
It seems, that there is code contained extracted out of other plugins, themes or widgets and used by copy & paste inside some source files.

Is Paeon suitable for localization using this plugin? What is the significance of this warning message?

When I use Codestyling to produce a .mo file, I see no results, and the theme’s English text that I translated (to Spanish) is not shown as revised after the next web site page view.

In the explanation for “textdomain” found in the document for Codestyling plugin, there is this text:

    //
    Warning Messages

If you get warnings either at the overview page or at the editor page, somethings is wrong within the analysed component. The overview page will show warnings, if the textdomain can not be found clearly. In this case the author has written the components code in a way make it hard to detect.

Warnings at the editors view will show up, if the component is using badly coded textdomains. This could be either by integration of other plugins code or accidentally by typing mistakes.

Reported issues are not a problem of Codestyling Localization, it’s caused by the author of the affected component within it’s code.

Also, I have sent a message to Codestyling plugin’s author, to ask whether the plugin supports WP 4.0 at this time.

    Hi Paul,

    Thanks for writing.

Unfortunately we don’t provide support on customizations or issues with plugins developed by third parties.

I’d recommend you to contact Codestyling support, as you started getting messages when you installed their plugin.

    Best,
    Juan.

I’m looking for a WP localization tool that does not require FTP. Codestyling plugin seemed to fill that bill, but it doesn’t work with WP 4.0 and your theme. Any suggestions for an alternative?

    Hello Paul,

    Thanks for your prompt response.

    We usually recommend WPML.

    Best,
    Juan
