Images in both homepage Info Boxes and Blog page posts stretching, unconstrained

At one point stopped appearing correctly. Uploads were to pixel dimensions, but no good. Experimented with varying dimensions, all stretched vertically on homepage. Reverse happens with Blog page posts: thumbs perfect, post image stretched to fit horizontal width. Any insight would be greatly appreciated:

Hello There,
Thanks for writing. It seems that you’ve done some framework updates independently from the theme update. This is OK on most cases, the problem is that we’ve done a major change regarding images awhile ago. We blogged about it: http://nicethemeswp.com/2013/10/upcoming-changes-goodbye-timthumb/
I’d recommend you to update your theme to the latest version, and you will get this problem sorted out.
