Navigation Menu: Open in new window

One of the items on our navigation menus links to an external site where our marketing email club is hosted. Typically I would use something like a “href target _blank” — but that doesn’t appear to be an option.
Anyone encounter this issue or have any ideas?

Hello Jim,
Thanks for writing.
That’s a WordPress feature. On “Appearance > Menus” , click on the link for Screen Options in the top right of your screen. Hidden away in the dropdown there, below the usual Show on screen checkboxes, is another line of Show advanced menu properties checkboxes.
Just check the box for Link Target and then all your Menu Items will have the additional option of Link Target : “Same window or tab” or “New window or tab”
