Page load time is slow

Hi,
My website load time is really slow. I installed the plugin that you suggest for optimization, however, the page load time is still really long.
Here is a screenshot of what pingdom.com suggests me to change: https://i.imgur.com/wXfcW0r.jpg
The problem is, I’m not sure how I can Specify an expiration at least one week in the future. Can you help me with that?
Juanfra Aldasoro November 23, 2017 at 1:21 pmHi Nina,
Thank you for writing.
I hope you are doing well. I’ve visited your site and seen that you have 3 different plugins for cache.
For page cache, we recommend W3 Total Cache (https://wordpress.org/plugins/w3-total-cache/), since it’s been largely tested with our themes.
Whatever it is the plugin you’re using for page cache, we recommend turning off all its file minification options for HTML, CSS and JS, and use Autoptimize instead: https://wordpress.org/plugins/autoptimize/. Here is a screenshot of our recommended configuration for Autoptimize: https://www.dropbox.com/s/l621ucr6mlpuepk/Screen%20Shot%202017-06-28%20at%2014.53.49-fullpage.png?dl=0&raw=1.
Also, you may want to take a look at this article about website performance and optimization: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wordpress-performance-speed/. It has a lot of useful information that can be relevant to your site.
Regarding specifying an expiration date, it is usually related to the plugins you are using. Would you please confirm me what plugin will you be using?
Thank you,
Juan.ninanevski November 24, 2017 at 5:55 pmI am using Autoptimize right now.
I set the Autoptimize at the recommended settings.
Do you want me to also download DW total cache as well to work together with Autoptimize?
ninanevski November 24, 2017 at 5:59 pmI downloaded and activated w3 total Cache. Do you also have a screenshot for recommended settings for this plugin? There are so many settings to choose from!
Juanfra Aldasoro November 24, 2017 at 9:37 pmHi,
Thank you for the follow-up.
Have you activated the W3 Total Cache plugin already? Did you remove the other ones?
Best,
Juan.ninanevski November 24, 2017 at 11:57 pmI don’t see any other plugins for cache, I think I did delete them.
Juanfra Aldasoro November 25, 2017 at 3:23 pmHi Nina,
Thanks for the follow-up.
I see some in the “Must-Use” plugins list. That’s why I’m asking. For example “Endurance Page Cache”.
Do you have plans to remove them? It is usually recommended to use one plugin for a certain purpose(for example caching, in this case), because if you have more than one they usually give conflicts.
Best,
Juan.ninanevski November 26, 2017 at 2:23 amHi Juanfra,
I just tried to remove them, but when I go to the “Must-Use” plugins list, it doesn’t give me an option to remove any plugins. Is there any other way to delete them?
Juanfra Aldasoro November 27, 2017 at 3:04 pmHi Nina,
Thanks for the follow-up.
The must use plugins can’t be removed via the admin section, these are installed over the wp-content/mu-plugins folder in your webhost. https://codex.wordpress.org/Must_Use_Plugins
Perhaps you can try with that cache plugin first instead of W3 Total Cache and see how it goes?
Best,
Juan.ninanevski November 27, 2017 at 11:41 pmI tried it. Even though my results are a bit better, I’m still getting a big red F on Leveraging Browsing Cache :'(

Thank you for the follow-up.
Well, that has to do with the server configuration. The plugin W3 Total Cache let you set an expiration date, like this other plugin for example https://wordpress.org/plugins/leverage-browser-caching/
If you want to learn more about Browser Cache and how you can improve that, you can read this article: https://gtmetrix.com/leverage-browser-caching.html
I’d recommend you to try the plugin I linked above and if that doesn’t work, then try to configure the htaccess directly.
Best,
Juan.ninanevski November 29, 2017 at 12:37 amHi Juan,
I disabled the “Endurance Page Cache”
I activated the W3 Total Cache plugin and the settings are really particular. Is there anyway that you can send me a screenshot of preferred settings for this specific theme? Or you can go in a change the settings that best fit?
Thank you.

Juanfra Aldasoro November 29, 2017 at 1:40 pmHi Nina,
Thank you for the follow-up.
For your particular case, where you are trying to improve your ranking in pingdom and the results are indicating that you need to add an expiration date to your assets, I strongly recommend going to the “Browser Cache” section. There, you will find the “Set expires header” option. By enabling that, you’ll be doing what pingdom is asking.
Best,
Juan.
