  • Hi,

I am nearly finished customisation project and I need help with the below:

    – title tags, how would i edit these natively? I tried editing with Yeost SEO plugin but it seems changes are overwritten after i save? I particularly need to change the title tag for the homepage.
    – similarly, how would you suggest i edit page snippets?
    – Where do i add favicon/site icon?
    – Social media links in footer – I enabled these in theme options, but they dont show up? I added the address in the social media settings, e.g. for Linkedin. No change.

I also have an issue with the Icon Box plugin in Visual Composer. The text in the icon boxes is left aligned. Please see for example the candidates page on mobile. I need to have the text alignment set to a specific margin. There is no option to do this in the visual composer plugin. On mobile it looks really unprofessional as the text is dancing all over the screen, depending on how many pixels wide the icon is.
I am investigating other paid add ons but I assume all users will have this issue and perhaps Nicethemes can help with this natively.

    Thank you

    Hi Namu,

Thanks for writing. I hope you are doing well.

    Regarding your questions:

    1) The title tags can be edited with SEO plugins, we don’t interfere in how they work, what type of problem are you having when you edit those? Does it happen when you edit the title tags globally or on a page basis?

    2) What do you mean when you say “editing page snippets”? You can use the code html tag if that’s what you mean, or you can use a plugin to share snippets. Or embedding gists.

    3) You can go to Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Site Identity > Site Icon to add one.

    4) You need to go to Theme Options > Footer > Footer Extended and enable the Display Social Icons option

    5) On what device are you currently checking the site? The icons display just right on the devices we have tested.

    Best,
    Juan.

    Hi,

Thanks for the follow-up. I’m happy to hear that đŸ™‚

    4) Have you configured your social settings in Theme Options > Social Media ? Please be sure you add the social network URL for the ones you would like to show, and then select to display them in the footer.

    5) Would you be so kind to send me a screenshot? I don’t see them misaligned, the text is right beside the icon. Perhaps with a screenshot, I would be able to see it and that way, find a possible solution.

    Best,
    Juan.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the follow-up.

    4) No worries, I think you can do that by setting things up for the extended footer. I think we’re talking about the same thing.

    5) Ok, now I see. You could try adding the following CSS:

    .vc_row .nice-icon-box-left .icon-2x,
    .vc_row .nice-icon-box-right .icon-2x {
        min-width: 45px;
    }

    Best,
    Juan.

    Hi there,

Awesome! That CSS worked perfect thank you.

For 4) and the footer/bottom bar, for now I would just like social media icons on the same row as the custom copyright text. That doesnt seem to work for me. I can add a seperate footer row above, and there the social media icons appear.
    Please let me know.
    Good weekend

    Hi,

I see that you’re using the 1.0.1 version of the theme. That specific version had a bug related to the social icons which caused them to not appear in the footer when that option is checked. We fixed that for the following release, so If you just update the theme using the latest version available in ThemeForest, the icons should appear in the footer without an issue.

    Best,

    Andrés.

    Hi Andres,

Thanks for coming back on this – I’d like to upgrade to the latest version.
I downloaded off themeforest but Im wondering how do I update properly without causing issues? Im using a child theme as advised and been making customisations that way.

    Please advise đŸ™‚

    Andrés Villarreal

    Hi,

If you’re using a Child Theme, there should be no problem updating just the parent theme. Once you extract the contents of the zip file you downloaded from ThemeForest, you will find another zip file called smart.zip inside it.

You just need to unzip this file to a folder called smart, and then upload it to the wp-content/themes directory inside your WordPress installation. Make sure you removed the older version of the theme first (the one you have now, but make a backup first!), so you don’t have any conflicts between old and new files.

The backup part is very important, since that will allow you to restore the theme in case something goes wrong.

Please let us know how it goes.

    Best,

    Andrés.

    Hi Andres,

Just did it with no issues and now everything working.
Thank you and thanks a lot guys for the support really appreciate. Awesome theme.

Finally i just wondered, where I can possibly edit the timing, of the fade out animation in the header on Home Page?
Sorry if not describing this well.

On Home page, if you scroll up the header changes back from white to transparent/the image.
I would like to edit the timing of this transition/animation.

Would i edit this in CSS? If you can point me to where/which lines to edit, I will happily experiment.

    THanks a lot

    Hi,

Thanks for the follow-up. My pleasure đŸ™‚ – And thank you for the kind words.

I’m happy to hear that! I can see you are using the shrinking header effect. Have you tried by editing the “Shrinking effect duration” on “Theme Options > Header > Animation”? That value is in milliseconds.

    Best,
    Andrés.

    Hi Andres,

Thanks yes I changed the shrinking effect duration and made that happen faster.
What I would like to edit is the speed at which the header comes in.
At the moment it seems to be “on” or “off” depending on scroll position – I would like to have the header fade in/out.
There doesnt seem to be a setting to adjust this in theme settings, so Im wondering if can be achieved with some CSS code or would it be adding code in the header.php file? With that adjustment I am very happy with customisation at this point.

Finally I seem to be having an issue with my license, i have entered the key but it says “site is inactive”?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Thank you for the follow-up. I hope you are doing well.

    1) Do you mean the “auto-hide effect”? After the page is scrolled, the header appears or disappears depending on the way you scroll the page. I’m not sure if that effect is the one you’re referring to. Please let me know.

    2) The problem with your license is that you have the license active for another site. The site was s689901550.websitehome.co.uk – I thought it was a testing site so I updated your license to this new live site. The license is only valid for one website.

    Best,
    Juan.
