First of all you’ll need to create a page with the “Home Page Template”. In this link ( http://nicethemeswp.com/support/theme-docs/bbq/#page-templates ) you have the instructions on how to assign templates to any page. Then, there’s an explanation on how to setup a home page.

Once you’ve got this, you need to add slides. In your wordpress administration, you’ll see there’s a menu on the left where you can manage slides. The image for the slide will be the featured image of that slide. Then you have custom fields for the Slide description, or the video embed code if you want your slide to have a video.

Then, you can create the infoboxes (the three boxes underneath the slider). They work basically the same way as the slides do. You need to set a title, a description (you can use the excerpt field) and then set a featured image (http://nicethemeswp.com/support/theme-docs/bbq/#images).
