There’s an easier way to do that, using widgets instead of touching the footer.php template code. For this you need to do the following:
– On the wp-admin section, go to “Appearance > Widgets”
– drag-and-drop a Text widget from the widget list to 3rd Footer sidebar on the right.
– Add the information you want inside the text widget:
Title: We accept phone orders:
Phone: XXX XXXXXX

This way you can always return to the widgets administration in order to edit the information. And also, this way you keep changes in case of theme update.
