Yes, you can make the home page look like the demo site. You need to import the demo data (http://nicethemeswp.com/theme-xml-demo-content/) and then, set up your home page (http://nicethemeswp.com/article/setting-home-page/).

If you don´t get to see the front page exactly as the demo site, then you need to check the theme options, and see that in the Home Options you have the options to set the live search, the tagline for that section, and options to enable or disable each one of the sections of the home page.
