With regards to the other questions, I understand your discontent. I’ve been through your site and saw that the XML import wasn’t completely successful. The articles weren’t linked to the proper categories, thing that made your home page not to work correctly. This is pretty strange, and unfortunately it is on WordPress end, as the WordPress importer, is part of WordPress, and not the theme.

Speaking of bbPress, you can read the following articles:

These are really solid in terms of detail, and I’m pretty sure they’ll work as a charm.
