  • Hi,

it looks like that the BBQ demo page doesn’t use the latest version.
The images on the homepage are resized by thimthumb and in the latest version this is not the case anymore (like mentioned on your blog).

In fact the height from 400 pixel doesn’t show up this way. Please check my test install

    Hi,

    Thanks for writing.

No, the demo site doesn’t use the latest version. We are in the process of updating them.

    Best,
    Juan.

Regarding the size of the slide, if you get to read our blog post you’ll find that our themes now use the WordPress native functions to resize the images. So, for example, for the slider image in BBQ, the original image would have to be bigger than 960px width and 400px in height. Else, the WordPress native resizing functionalities do not resize the images. That’s part of WordPress.

    Best,
    Juan.

    Hi,
I’m using the images from your XML demo data. The dimensions are set in the theme and tell me what to do? is the image from your demo to small?

    Hi,

Thanks for your response. Yes, the images from the demo are a bit small so they’re not resized. As the demo site was set when using timthumb is something we need to modify before updating the demo sites versions.

With regards to the image dimensions for BBQ:

    Blog image: 320×200
    Slide: 960×400
Image for the single menu page: 610px width
Image for the featured image on the post page: 730×340
    Menu item on grid: 120×80
    Menu item on list: 85×65
    Gallery screenshots: 375×250
    Infoboxes: 480×240

Images should be at least of that size in order to be resized.

You can always find the image dimensions on the file /includes/theming.php on each theme.

    Best,
    Juan.

    Hi Juan,

    yep that works, thanks.

    No problem.

    Have a nice day,
    Juan.
